Curator's Talk: Kinetic Zen by Johnny Taylor

How do you reinvent yourself while staying true to where you've come from? Having moved to New York from Vancouver, artist Johnny Taylor, answers that question in his new series of work, Kinetic Zen. Taylor rediscovers the simplicity of painting through the colours, flow and energy of his new surroundings. Kinetic Zen explores the intentional and instinctual, reveals gratitude for what was, excitement for what is and hope for what's yet to come. Coming in from the south Bronx, New York, Johnny Taylor's Kinetic Zen exhibition comes to the Miller Art Gallery, located at the Roxy Theatre. Taylor's work will be available for viewing at the Roxy from September 1 to 27, 2022. Admission to the gallery is free to the public.
